The BMA (UK) – Anti-Trotskyite Research Institute
The BMA (UK) is primarily a Research-Based Institute specialising in the academic subject(s) of ‘How’ Early Buddhism resembles (or ‘influenced’ the development of) Classical Marxism (Marx-Engels) and ‘How’ Marxist-Leninism (in all its forms – including the developments expressed in the thinking of Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh, Thomas Sankara, Huey Newton, and Che Guevara, etc) relate in the following (evidence-based) categories of definition:
a) Philosophical and Ideological Interface(s)
b) Historical and Cultural Interconnectivity
Non-evidence-based categories include:
c) Theoretical Relation(s)
d) Practical Relation(s)
Categories ‘A’ and ‘B’ are designed to be purely ‘academic’ in nature and to involve pure expressions of ‘logic-chopping’ – typical within the Bourgeois ‘hallowed’ halls of education! However, as the BMA (UK) – despite its association with Oxford – recognises the importance and validation of the Proletariat population of the world – the poverty-stricken peasants and workers who ‘live’ and ‘apply’ proper and correct Buddha-Dhamma are more than welcome here! There is a deep and profound wisdom contained within the Buddhist lineages throughout Asia - which are ancient in nature, and which have survived turmoil and change down through the centuries. For this body of knowledge – which exists ‘outside’ of conventional academia – the BMA (UK) categories of ‘C’ and ‘D’ have been created! In many ways, this dichotomy recognises the often substantial ‘gap’ that exists between the world of ethereal ‘ideas’ – and the often brutal and desperate world of ‘material’ existence.
The BMA (UK) is an anti-Trotskyite Research Institute and Political Activist Entity. The work of Leon Trotsky is deceptive in nature and a genuine expression of the concretisation of ‘greed’, ‘hatred’ and ‘delusion’. As this is the case, the BMA (UK) does not recognise (or include) the work of Leon Trotsky in its assessment of development of the thought of Buddha and Marx. Indeed, within the historicity of Early Buddhism – the character of ‘Trotsky’ very much represents the renegade personage of ‘Devadatta’. Just as Devadatta attempted to ‘kill’ the Buddha (both ‘physically’ and ‘philosophically’) – Trotsky (and his followers) attempt to ‘kill’ the workers and peasants by polluting the genuine Revolutionary Path of Marxist-Leninism! To guard against the multitude of ‘unwise’ pathways – the Buddha advocated eternal vigilance – as did Lenin, Stalin, and Mao, etc.
With regards to Political Activism – many individuals across the world – have contribute (and have contributed) to the development of the BMA (UK). Each has usually been a Member of some type of Marxist-Leninist Entity within the geo-political context of their particular existence. This Membership is of no relevance to the BMA (UK) - and is entirely a ‘Private Matter’ for each individual concerned. Just as the dialectical conditions vary around the world – individuals will have to adjust to their circumstances regarding relevant and genuine Revolutionary Activity. The BMA (UK), for instance, maintains close connections with all the (legitimate) Communist Factions in the UK – as well as the Communist Parties of China, Laos, Vietnam, North Korea, Cuba, Lebanon and Palestine, etc, and yet how the Workers and Peasants living in these areas pursue effective Revolutionary Activity depends entirely upon local conditions and socio-economic development.
