Karl Marx (1818-1883) Oration – March the 15th 2015

The Marx Oration is an annual event (started in 1933 and sponsored by the Marx Memorial Library) and held at the graveside of Karl Marx, which is situated in Highgate Cemetery, North London.  This ceremony respectfully remembers the passing of Karl Marx – who died on March the 14th, 1883.  In 2015 a delegation from the Buddhism – Marxism Alliance (UK) joined with comrades from around the world to commemorate the extraordinary life of Karl Marx who lived in the UK from 1849 until his passing in 1883.  His life-long friend – Friedrich Engels (1820-1895)  – arranged for Marx to be buried in Highgate Cemetery.
